DYAD association was created in 2016 as a collaboration between Luisa Schöfer and Isabelle Schramm. The two german native dancers have met during their work with Swiss choreographer Richard Kaboré in 2015. Isabelle and Luisa observe a very complementary energy on stage and realize a strong similarity, not only physically but also in their way of moving and in their personal lives. Sharing the same choreographic ideas and visions and wishing to explore the vitality and intensity of their duo, motivated them to continue working together. They decide to found their association which they name Dyad, illustrating perfectly the duality and complementary of their relationship.
The character of their movement language quality is simplicity, pureness, minimalism. Isabelle and Luisa are working to develop a choreographic esthetic which combines technical precision and rough gestures. The purpose is to reflect authentic personalities and honest human interactions without any detours, without any „frills“.
The company’s ambition is to create, produce, spread and promote contemporary dance pieces. Dyad wishes to be part and sustain the contemporary dance development in Switzerland and other countries in Europe. Furthermore, the the company’s intention is to develop the public’s awareness towards the interaction between movement and music by visualizing and connecting qualities like tension, phasing, accents, dynamic, melody, rhythm within these two elements.
Creative research and the realization of the dancers’ artistic ideas are the company’s priorities.
The first project created is „Dyad“ (2017), a videoclip produced in collaboration with musician WEOSM and camera operator Marc-Olivier Vincent Schramm.
